ADMINISTAFF SELECTS ASYMETRIX LEARNING SYSTEMS
TO PROVIDE ADVANCED TRAINING SOLUTIONS FOR NATIONWIDE CLIENT BASE
HOUSTON August 26, 1999
Administaff, Inc. (NYSE: ASF), a leading professional employer organization
(PEO), announced today that it has selected Asymetrix Learning Systems
(NASDAQ: ASYM) to provide web-based training solutions for both
its corporate staff and the worksite employees at its client companies
throughout the United States.
Administaff will offer online training courses
through Asymetrix delivery and tracking products, as well as custom
training modules designed to address the specific training needs
of each client. The initial program will be offered to the companys
corporate staff beginning this month through its corporate Intranet.
Deployment to worksite employees at client companies will follow
training of the corporate staff and will take place through Administaff
Assistant, the companys Extranet service platform.
"Online training is fast, effective
and far more convenient than traditional classroom training,"
said Paul J. Sarvadi, Administaff president and chief executive
officer. "Now employees can learn valuable skills whenever
and wherever they log on to the Internet, and this makes the Asymetrix
solution an ideal service for the progressive small and medium-sized
businesses we serve. Through this strategic investment in technology,
Administaff will provide clients with a powerful, high-quality learning
platform that is usually available to only very large companies.
This should result in increased productivity through a better trained
and more skilled workforce."
Asymetrix is providing Administaff with a complete
online learning solution that includes custom-developed courseware
and authoring templates. The system includes Asymetrix Librarian,
an advanced learning management system used to track and manage
the companys online training activities; and Asymetrix Ingenium,
a registration platform for course enrollment, management of off-line
offerings such as printed materials and videos, and correspondence
with students and instructors. All Asymetrix products integrate
seamlessly with third-party training programs.
"With a dispersed and rapidly growing
workforce, Administaff is in a perfect position to leverage online
learning to quickly and affordably train its employee base,"
said Kevin Oakes, president and chief learning officer of Asymetrix
Learning Systems. "As a full-service solution company, we are
completely unique in the industry in our ability to provide Administaff
with the breadth and depth of online learning, authoring and management
products, combined with superior services and off-the-shelf and
customized content."
Administaff provides small and medium-sized
businesses with a comprehensive Personnel Management System that
includes benefits and payroll administration, medical and workers
compensation insurance programs, personnel records management, employer
liability management, employee recruiting and selection, performance
