Family Physician Gives Better Care With the Help
of a Professional Employer Organization
How did fried chicken have a positive effect
on Dr. Richard Baxley's health care practice? Growing up in St.
Augustine, FL., Baxley's father owned several Kentucky Fried Chicken
franchises. His father's favorite motto, "The customer may
not always be right, but by God, he's never wrong." It's a
lesson Dr. Baxley never forgot. To Dr. Baxley, his customers/patients
are his first priority. Unfortunately, the daily operations of running
a successful medical practice can interfere with caring for patients.
There is endless paperwork, not to mention staffing and payroll
issues. Baxley admits this was work he didn't enjoy, and knew little
about.
"I'm the perfect example of someone who's
an expert in on area, but lacking in another," Baxley confesses.
Baxley has been in practice since 1988, and
during this time he has provided the community with unequaled primary
and family health care. His accomplishments are impressive. He was
named a presidential "Point of Light" by President Clinton
for his creation of a local health care center for the homeless.
He also serves as the family physician for the NBA's Orlando Magic
and the Orlando Solar Bears IHL ice hockey team. And he is recognized
as a top physician in Central Florida. Like many area business owners,
he was having difficulty managing overwhelming employee issues.
So in 1997 Baxley turned to a Professional Employer Organization
(PEO), Administaff.
As one of the nation's leading PEOs, Administaff
provides a comprehensive Personnel Management System that encompasses
a broad range of services, including benefits and payroll administration,
medical and workers' compensation insurance programs, employer liability
management, employee recruiting and selection, performance management,
and performance improvement services to small- and medium-sized
businesses. Administaff pools the resources of more than 36,000
worksite employees. These pooled resources result in better benefits
for smaller companies. And with Administaff's marketing alliances
with American Express and Dell Computers, Administaff's clients
have access to even greater benefits.
Baxley's association with Administaff has allowed
him to grow his practice. Recently, he and his team of physicians
moved to the RDV Sportsplex to better serve their patients. Although
Baxley is the first to admit he doesn't take advantage of all of
the benefits of a PEO, he is satisfied knowing that the "have-to's"
are getting done. And, as unexpected personnel-related issues arise,
Baxley can depend on Administaff to guide him through difficult
employer issues.
Administaff has 22 offices in 14 major markets
and serves clients and worksite employees throughout the United
States.
